Dominion Ministries Prison Ministry
For the past 11 years Pastor Alex has been a volunteer at Southbay Correctional Institute in Southbay Florida, Okeechobee Correctional, and Martin County Correctional. After participating in several Kairos weekends at various local correctional institutions, Pastor Alex responded to the call for a continuous “renewing of the minds” of those men who had accepted Christ as their savior but had a desire to move from membership to discipleship. For the past 11 years we have established an ongoing discipleship class that meets several times monthly in each institution. We also work with Prison Fellowship to assist in the facilitation of the TUMI ( The Urban Ministry Institute) program which consist of fifty men who will spend two years, six hours daily, five days weekly studying to become ministers within the prison system. These men will also earn 32 college credit hours. The recent graduating class of thirty-six men was the largest class of graduates in this program to date.

Our ongoing relationship with the men at Southbay, Martin and Okeechobee Correctional has positively affected the families and especially the children of the men we mentor. Through our ministry we are able to introduce other saints who are gifted for prison ministry to opportunities to fulfill their calling.
